 • June 4, 2011 - 8:30 - 9:00 p.m. Sky Lantern Liftoff to Remember Erin.
The family and friends of Erin joined in an event bring attention to Erin and other MISSING children in Iowa.
In the Disney movie Tangled, the parents released sky lanterns every year in hopes of the return of their daughter. This year Erin’s family decided to do the same.
At dusk, participants released sky lanterns to symbolize all the hopes and prayers which have been lifted up for Erin and the other missing children. It was a very heartwarming experience for everyone involved. |
At 15 years old, Erin had big dreams. She planned to be the first multi-platinum musical artist that had won the Oscar for best actress and a Tony for her self-written and self-choreographed musical in the same year. She planned to be the mother to three children. And she planned to be a veterinarian. She told her family that she’d do all of this by the time she was 23. That would have been in 2009. But Erin’s plans were interrupted.
June 3rd 2001, Erin took a ride from her brother’s friend to a friend’s house. It was movie night. When Erin arrived her friend was not home, she had gone to the store for snacks. As far as we know, Erin was last seen getting into another car and told her brother’s friend that “these guys will give me a ride home.” That was nearly ten years ago and Erin still hasn’t come home. |
