It's My Story Too
It’s My Story Too
As Amber’s parent, I have seen the healing that telling her sister’s story from her perspective has given Amber. I hope that through this project, we can do the same for other siblings of missing children.

Are you the brother or sister of a missing person?
We have seen first hand the impact that having a missing sibling has on the children that are “left behind.” It’s not fair is it? You’ve not only lost your brother or sister, in some cases, you’ve lost your parents too. They’ve changed. And so have you. We’d like you to be able to tell your perspective of how this has changed or impacted your life. Whatever you want to say. Good, bad, sad, angry, tired, or just plain lost yourself, your story and your life is just as important as that of the brother or sister that is missing.

Was your sibling missing but now they are back home?
Homecomings always look so happy on the television. Is this true for your family? Maybe it has only gotten worse since your brother/sister came home. They are “home” but things are just as bad or worse than before. Or they are found but something else happened so they are in a treatment facility, legal custody, or foster care. Your story is important too! Here is your chance to tell it.

Maybe your brother or sister is no longer missing but they have been recovered in a “less than positive” outcome.
Everyone says that “not knowing is the worst”. Is it better now that your family knows what happened? Are you just left now with more unknowns and more questions?

Whatever your situation, whatever the story, we’d like the chance to help you tell it.  Letters, thoughts, pictures, etc. showing the unique impact that having a missing sibling has on the “left behind” brothers and sisters.
